Day 1 reflection

Individual Reflection (Day 1)
Pre Camp

What sounds interesting about this project? (The project you have chosen)
-I find it interesting because I am quite curious about how we separate two elements from another. But even though I had learned a bit about this topic when I was secondary one, I was still interested to find out more about the distillation method

What do you think you can learn from this project?
-To me, I think what I can learn from this project is to learn more in depth information and more details about how distillation works. Also, I think that we may get hands on experience trying it out in the lab.

Any immediate questions regarding the project?
I was wondering how is algebra related to the method of distillation and also how can we separate other elements.

Plenary sessions
Note down at least one key learning point for each lesson
For session number 1, I have learnt that stratigraphy and sedimentology tell us about past tsunami and that there is another way to measure about earthquakes which is using the radioactive decay of uranium to thorium
For session number 2, I have learnt that the challenges of 2d animation are getting the beautiful art form, funding skilled artist, labor intensive and the budget pressure. Then, I have also learnt that the field of engineering involving computer-based hardware and software systems to enable: Acquisition, representation, storage, transmission and use of information. Also, traditional animation production is laborious, costly, difficult to manage but the demand is high
For session number 3, I have learnt that nanotechnology can use motors like the flagella bundle with CCW helix rotate CCW direction to swim around. Each flagellum is 20nm in diameter but over ten thousand in length. Another way is that most cells have a king of ‘’rail networks’’ within them of micro tubes. Kinesin molecules use these to transport material around the cell with each function having its own network of micro tubes
